Autumn Glow 24"x30" Original Oil Painting by Connie Tom Hudson River School Aspen landscape

"Autumn Glow" 24"h x 30"w Original Oil Painting by Connie Tom ~ Sold!
I have painted so many aspen tree paintings. I love the glow of sunlight in this autumn scene. Autumn has the colors of harvest. That's one of the things I love about autumn. It just like the flurry of leaves stirs the soul to get ready for the coming holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Plus the many beautiful colors of autumn will complement just about any room in the home or office.

You can see more of my work on my website at www.connietom.com .

"But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven: a land which the Lord thy God careth for: the eyes of the Lord thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year." ~ Deuteronomy 11:11-12.

"Captured by the Light III" ~ A Painting a Day Hudson River School Luminous Landscapes Paintings by Connie Tom

I absolutely love the luminosity of Light! When you think of "light", it's something light and airy, not heavy and burdensome. I think of purity, holiness, and rightousness, cleanliness, godliness, not dark, dreary, tainted, down and dirty, and filthy. Jesus Christ said, "I am the Light of the world". "He who cometh to Me, I will in no wise cast out." "Come unto Me, ye that are heavy laden and I will give you rest unto your souls". I guess that's why I am soooo drawn to the light and thus want to paint it. I am fascinated and mezmerized by it. It cheers me up and makes me joyful. It reminds me of all the things I have to be grateful for. Just as I am, this lone boater seems to be "Captured by the Light". ~ Enjoy!

"The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof." ~ Psalm 50:1.

"Heavenly Sunshine" ~ 24"x 30" A Painting a Day Hudson River School Luminous Sunset Landscapes by Connie Tom

In painting this work, I was reminded the greatness of God...He is Omnipresent...present everywhere, Omniscient...all knowing, and Omnipotent...all powerful! He is above all... and over all in all these things... or He wouldn't be God. I was reminded also of His wonderful thoughts and of his infinite goodness and mercies toward us, and how He gives us all good things to enjoy, if we will just "put our faith and trust in Him and walk in His ways". His love is perfect toward us! ~ Enjoy!

"For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee." ~ Psalm 84:11-12.

"Silvery Blue" ~ 20"x16" A Painting a Day Hudson River School Landscapes by Connie Tom

I thought these colorful autumn birches stood out in a pleasing manner to the eye in contrast against background of the silvery blue waters of this mountain lake in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. Enjoy!

"For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth: so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations." ~ Isaiah 61:11.

"Autumn's Glories" ~ 24"h x 30"w A Painting a Day Hudson River School Luminous Autumn Tree Landscape Paintings by Connie Tom

"Autumn's Glories"
Autumn is such a beautiful, cheerful time of the year. People are settling in for the the winter and making preparations for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. As with the festive colors outside, we tend to want to bring some of that excitement and festive color inside our homes. ~ Enjoy!

"He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?" ~ Luke 16:10-11.

"Mountain Wildflowers" ~ 24"x20" A Painting a Day Hudson River School Landscapes by Connie Tom

There is something intriguing to me of painting mountains and wildflowers. I think it's the contrast of such strength and ruggedness of the huge mountains dwelling with such beauty and delicacy of the delicate wildflowers. I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed painting it. ~ Connie

"Lanterns of Gold II" ~ 30" x 24" A Painting a Day Hudson River School Autumn Tree Landscapes by Connie Tom

This is the second in a series of oil paintings that I did entitled the "Lanterns of Gold Series". I love the colors of autumn and I love trees and being out in the woods. And I am especially fascinated with how light reflects off of water still on the many colored autumn leaves when the morning dew is still fresh on the leaves. They glisten like "Lanterns of Gold". I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed painting it. ~Connie

"The Lord hath prepared His throne in the heavens; and His kingdom ruleth over all. Bless the Lord, ye His angels, that excel in strength, that do His commandments, hearkening unto the voice of His word. Bless ye the Lord, all ye His hosts; ye ministers of His, that do His pleasure. Bless the Lord, all His works in all places of His dominion: bless the Lord, O my soul. ~ Psalm 103:19-22

"Spruce Trees and Berry Bushes" ~ 24"w x 18"h A Painting a Day Hudson River School Landscapes by Connie Tom

This painting is available for sale.

This is the season when many people love to take vacations. If you are like me, I love to get away to some place remote where I can find peace and solitude. This work pictures a sunrise through the mist and the fog of blue spruce trees and berry bushes in the rugged country of the Yukon Territory located in Alaska. The sun glints light off of the dew that is still upon the foliage and causes many beautiful prismatic color to be seen through the atmosphere. But when you can't get away, it's nice to have this painting as a visual reminder that we can kind of imagine ourselves into. ~ Enjoy!

"Flowers and Grasses" ~ 3/26/08 A Painting a Day Spring Landscape by Connie Tom

As one season changes into another, as winter changes into spring, the earth seems to come alive from the dead. I love to watch how flowers seem to spring up out of the ground and the grasses began to grow and sway in the sweet, warm breeze graced with sunlight. ~ Enjoy!

"As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.
In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good." ~ Ecclesiastes 11:5-6.

"The Secret Place of the Most High" ~ 2/5/08 A Painting a Day Daily Luminous Landscape Paintings by Connie Tom

To get in a quiet place and think upon the most High God of the Universe! Of all living creatures... all powers and principalities of the air, all angelic beings, all the Heavenly Hosts, all creatures upon the earth. Whose eyes are always upon us and whose ears are open to our prayers. I hope you enjoy this painting as much as I enjoyed painting it! ~ Connie

"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation." ~ Psalm 91:1-4,8-9.
