The sun was setting and the light hitting the canyon walls was amazing! You could still see a little of the blue sky just above the canyon. But the moisture in the air created this wonderful mists rising from the canyon. The whole affect was sheer ambiance. Enjoy!

I have painted so many aspen tree paintings. I love the glow of sunlight in this autumn scene. Autumn has the colors of harvest. That's one of the things I love about autumn. It just like the flurry of leaves stirs the soul to get ready for the coming holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Plus the many beautiful colors of autumn will complement just about any room in the home or office.

Sometimes when I just want to get away from the busy-ness of life, I try to imagine myself somewhere far away from cities and crowded places. Somewhere where I can enjoy the quietness, sometimes in the mountains with water and fresh country air where nature is undisturbed. Waterfalls are mezmerizing to me. To feel the cool mist upon your skin.... Hear the rippling of the water and splash of the waterfall? Now that's living! I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed painting it. ~ Connie

I love beautiful sunsets and sunrises because these are usually the times of the day with the most dramatic lighting. This was a commission painting I did. I love how the beautiful wildflowers seem to spring up and thrive even in the midst of such rugged mountainous country. Oh, that we could be more like them when times are hard. I love the contrast of the delicacy and size of the flowers to the massiveness of the mountains. It was so much fun to paint. I love all the cheery colors. The dark mountains seem to heighten the vibrancy of the hues in the flowers. ~ Enjoy!

This is an original oil painting picturing the first three sheep to come up over the hill in the rugged terrain of the Rocky Mountain Range area. It's an early winter's morning. The shimmering gold of the aspens is a beautiful contrast to the deep bluish purple of the mountains. According to Indian legend, the aspens quiver eternally because they once failed to do so before the Great Spirit. Enjoy!

This was the second in a series entitled the "Fishing Delight Series". The setting is Colorado. The aspens are vibrant gold against the dark green hills. The water is clean and blue. Wouldn't you like to have this log cabin as a your own personal retreat to escape to with the ones you love whenever you would like? Just imagine.... sitting on the front porch of this log cabin that sits on the side of a hill in the autumn woods, watching the morning sunrise. Seeing the morning fog still hovering over the blue-purplish mountains on the other side, watching a herd of mountain sheep heading toward a river down in the valley below for a morning drink. You could go canoing or fishing at your leisure, no time schedule, plenty of groceries and good food, clean linens, curtains on the windows, and a fire in the fireplace for when it gets a little cool. Candles, of course! Some chairs on the front porch to sit in outside or to take a walk to explore the countryside and enjoy the myriad of beautiful, autumn colors with which God creates in. Hear the breeze rustling through the treetops and all the wonderful sounds of the woodland creatures and enjoy the simplicity and purity of nature. ~ Enjoy!
