"Country Road, Take me Home...." 24" x 30" Hudson River School Daily Painters by Connie Tom
As we all grow up and grow older, our lives get busier and more complicated. More demands are made on us and life can become stressful and uncomfortable. It's times like these, that we think back to a time when we felt at ease.... at peace, happy... and loved just for who we are. Maybe it's a place. Maybe it's a person or a set of circumstances that is home to our souls. That our hearts yearn to be back in. If only in our minds eye, we sometimes need to get back on that country road and let it take us "home". To a simpler way of life. Where there was much joy and laughter. There's a richness of beauty there to behold. The country and western song from which this title was taken goes, “Country Road.... Take Me Home, to a Place I belong....”

"Sunset Over Table Rock Lake, Branson, MO" ~ A Painting a Day Hudson River School Mountain Autumn Tree Landscape Paintings by Connie Tom
This was an intense study I did of one of my beloved Hudson River School artists, Albert Bierstadt. I love the mood in this scene. This work pictures a panaramic view of a beautiful sunset over Table Rock Lake located in Branson, MO. I love the contrast between the intense light and shadows and the gorgeous colors of the sunset are also reflected in the water.~ Enjoy!
"Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise him in the heights.
Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts. Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.
Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.
Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created."
~ Psalm 148:1-5.

"Autumn's Hidden Sanctuary IV" 28"x22" ~ Up for Bid! Hudson River School A Painting a Day Landscapes by Connie Tom
I love the feel of the autumn woods. To me, it's somewhat of a sanctuary with the huge trees and the canopy of autumn leaves. There's an intimacy in the solitude of nature. I love the colors of autumn, because it seems to have the colors of the other three seasons as well as the many colors unique to it's own season. Enjoy!

"Autumn Symphony" ~ 20" x 30" Hudson River School A Painting a Day Landscapes by Connie Tom
My hope and prayer in painting this 'Autumn Symphony' series of paintings is to give to the viewer a view of nature's beauty that they might not see everyday. Autumn is without question my favorite season to paint because of the myriads of bright, bold, and beautiful colors. Happy colors... Festive colors. I hope my paintings will be like windows on the walls of their homes, which will surround them with this symphony of joyous color with all it's beauty, complexity, diversity and richness of nature's autumn in this great country of ours. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed painting it! ~Connie
This work will be up for auction on Barry Chappell's Fine Art Showcase. Please watch this blog for exact dates and times.
"For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55:10-11.

"Rainbow Trout in Red" ~ 54"hx 42"w Hudson River School A Painting a Day Landscapes by Connie Tom
This is a commission painting I did for the lobby over the fireplace of a fishing retreat beautiful log facility. The owner wanted the atmospheric conditions to reflect red in the air and water. I wanted "some" background elements to show up. The trick was to keep them pretty obscure so as to leave the rainbow trout the main attraction. Enjoy!

"Old Oak Tree on a High Hill III" ~ 1/10/08 A Painting a Day by Connie Tom
I love old oak trees! This old oak stands like a sentinel watching over the valley below and the rest of the trees. ~Enjoy!
"I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence. For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right." ~ Psalm 9:1-4.
