"Fishing at First Light" ~ 24"h x 36"w ~ A Painting A Day Hudson River School Landscapes by Connie Tom
Again... another panaramic views of wide open spaces. With a beautiful sunset and at the lake. What a way to start a morning. I can only imagine the sounds those two fishermen are hearing right now. A gentle rippling of the water. A fish break the water now and then. The woodland areas coming alive with the morning. Birds, frogs... a gentle breeze in the trees. Watching the sun through the morning fog still hazing across the water. I love to wach the effects of light in atmospheric conditions. Mercy!!! ~Connie

"In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death" ~ Proverbs 14:2,26-27.

"Captured by the Light III" ~ A Painting a Day Hudson River School Luminous Landscapes Paintings by Connie Tom
I absolutely love the luminosity of Light! When you think of "light", it's something light and airy, not heavy and burdensome. I think of purity, holiness, and rightousness, cleanliness, godliness, not dark, dreary, tainted, down and dirty, and filthy. Jesus Christ said, "I am the Light of the world". "He who cometh to Me, I will in no wise cast out." "Come unto Me, ye that are heavy laden and I will give you rest unto your souls". I guess that's why I am soooo drawn to the light and thus want to paint it. I am fascinated and mezmerized by it. It cheers me up and makes me joyful. It reminds me of all the things I have to be grateful for. Just as I am, this lone boater seems to be "Captured by the Light". ~ Enjoy!

"Sailboats in the Sunset II" ~ 12"x24" A Painting a Day Hudson River School Landscapes Paintings by Connie Tom
This is the second in a series of paintings entitled the "Sailboats in the Sunset Series". This work pictures a beautiful sunset that is also reflected in the ocean. There are sailboats along the horizon and breakers are making their way to the shore. Sunsets and sunrises are my favorite time of day to paint because that's when you can see the most dramatic lighting. Enjoy!
"Then spake Jesus unto them saying, "I am the Light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." ~ John 8:12

"Fishing at First Light II" ~ A Painting a Day Hudson River School Fishing Boats Sunsets Landscapes by Connie Tom
I love to paint beautiful sunsets and sunrises and people out in nature having fun. This work pictures a panaramic view of two lucky fishermen up at the crack of dawn out in their boat on the lake ready to get their first catch of the day. Sunsets and sunrises often sets the mood and atmosphere of the terrain. Today this dramatic morning light only heightens the thrill, freedom and exhilaration of the beginning of their day. ~ Enjoy!
Prints of this painting are now available in several sizes and options for ordering: Canvas or paper, Rolled in a tube or gallery wrapped, frames in several styles...All options are calculated for you. Click here!
"O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help. Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt. But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more. My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof. I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only." ~ Psalms 71:12-16.

"Fishing at First Light" ~ 36"x 24" A Painting a Day Hudson River School landscapes by Connie Tom
These lucky fishermen are up at first light, away from the business of life, out in the fresh air enjoying themselves. The morning fog is still hovering over the water and God's glory is filling the heavens. Enjoy!
"Thy mercy is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds." ~ Psalm 36:5.

"Heavenly Sunshine" ~ 24"x 30" A Painting a Day Hudson River School Luminous Sunset Landscapes by Connie Tom
In painting this work, I was reminded the greatness of God...He is Omnipresent...present everywhere, Omniscient...all knowing, and Omnipotent...all powerful! He is above all... and over all in all these things... or He wouldn't be God. I was reminded also of His wonderful thoughts and of his infinite goodness and mercies toward us, and how He gives us all good things to enjoy, if we will just "put our faith and trust in Him and walk in His ways". His love is perfect toward us! ~ Enjoy!
"For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee." ~ Psalm 84:11-12.

"Autumn's Glories" ~ 24"h x 30"w A Painting a Day Hudson River School Luminous Autumn Tree Landscape Paintings by Connie Tom
"Autumn's Glories"
Autumn is such a beautiful, cheerful time of the year. People are settling in for the the winter and making preparations for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. As with the festive colors outside, we tend to want to bring some of that excitement and festive color inside our homes. ~ Enjoy!
"He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?" ~ Luke 16:10-11.

Collection of Charles Rogan ~ Perkasie, PA

"Sailboats in the Sunset" This is a study done from one of the original Hudson River School masters, Jasper Cropsey. I guess the reason I love the Hudson River School masters' work is that the color, light, atmosphere, and mood of their paintings are therapudic to me. They lift my spirit, they soothe my anxieties all with the purity of their work. Enjoy!
"Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." Psalms 37:4
