"The Pounding Surf Against the Rocky Coast" is another intense study I have done of the revered Hudson River School master Frederic Edwin Church. There is something so fascinating to me about the ocean.... it's massiveness, I guess. Completely out of man's control. Always moving with a thousand little glints of reflected light. Intriguing to me just to sit and watch what it's going to do next with the changing of the tides, the lights, the weather, the time of day. Enjoy!

There's nothing so mystical as the sunlight filtering through the atmosphere in an early morning sunrise on the lake. The fog is still hovering over the water and it's sooooo peaceful! It's Spring! I've been couped up behind this easel; the wood stove going; the windows shut. When the sun's shining and new life is teeming and sprouting up everywhere in grasses and flowers, I'm soooo ready to get outside in the country, smell the clean fresh air and check my flower beds or out in the field to see what new flowers are coming up voluntarily. It's just like a gift from God!

This is the 11th work I've done in this series depicting "Creek Retreats". This work pictures a midview of a creek running through the country. On both sides of the creek are big river elm and oak trees bent over the creek like a canopy. A sunset shining down on the creek reflects the beautiful autumn foliage. ~ Enjoy!
