This work pictures the deep rich masses of foliage in it's full fruition, typical of middle summer at the water's edge adorned with the beautiful lighting of a sunset. Please note the indepth detail in the vines curling up around the main tree, the haze from the sun that fades some elements in the scene, the grasses and wildflowers on the banks and the brushwork and colors in the sky and the clouds. It's Spring! I've been couped up behind this easel; the wood stove going; the windows shut. When the sun's shining and new life is teeming and sprouting up everywhere in grasses and flowers, I'm soooo ready to get outside in the country, smell the clean fresh air and check my flower beds or out in the field to see what new flowers are coming up voluntarily. It's just like a gift from God!
