"Happiness in the Adirondacks" ~ 18" x 24" A Painting a Day Luminous Hudson River School Landscapes by Connie Tom

This is another intense study of one of the Hudson River School Master artists, Frederick Edwin Church. He and Albert Bierstadt are my two favorites. I love their lighting effects. This work pictures a panaramic view of a lake in the Adirondacks Mountains located in upstate New York. This boater is out for a wonderful time taking in the spectacular beauty of God's creation. Enjoy!

"Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." ~ Psalm 37:4.

"Storm Clearing Over the Catskills" ~ A Painting a Day Hudson River School by Connie Tom

This was another intense study I did of Hudson River School master, Frederic Edwin Church's original. It is painted on a 24" x 36" gallery wrapped canvas. He, Albert Bierstadt, and Jasper Cropsey are my favorites of this first major art movement in America known as the Hudson River School, because of their dramatic lighting, mood and atmosphere. ~ Enjoy!

"...Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the Lord? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the Lord." ~ 2 Chronicles 19:2
"Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established;believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper." 2 Chronicles 20:2

"Grace" ~ 24"x30" A Painting a Day Hudson River School Autumn Tree Landscapes by Connie Tom

I love peaceful settings. It seems to bring peace to my soul and spirit... my inner most being. Grace is not something you earn. Wages we earn by our hard work and we are therefore justly rewarded. Grace is that "unmerited favor from God" many times coming in unexpected ways. Look for it today. It is a gift.... it is a blessing!

"Grace be to you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.." ~ Ephesians 1:2-3

"The Pounding Surf Against the Rocky Coast" ~ 2/16/09 A Painting A Day Hudson River School Landscapes by Connie Tom

"The Pounding Surf Against the Rocky Coast" is another intense study I have done of the revered Hudson River School master Frederic Edwin Church. There is something so fascinating to me about the ocean.... it's massiveness, I guess. Completely out of man's control. Always moving with a thousand little glints of reflected light. Intriguing to me just to sit and watch what it's going to do next with the changing of the tides, the lights, the weather, the time of day. Enjoy!

"Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever. Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous." ~ Psalms 112:1-4

"The Still Small Voice" ~ 10/30/07 A Painting a Day by Connie Tom

SOLD!

Collection of Tom DiMartino ~ Buffalo, NY

"The Still Small Voice" was another intense study I did of Hudson River Master Frederick E. Church. The wilderness is a place for solitude and quiet contemplation. The Boston Evening Transcript published this in Church's day:
Solitude reigns over the scene, and as the eye ever turns away
from the wilderness below to gaze upon the brilliant canopy of the sky,
the imagination whispers that he who was once
'led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted,
must often at the twilight hour have turned his gaze
from the gloom and loneliness of the forest
to the brightness and beauty of those heavens
which to his vision of faith were ever opened,
revealing the 'Father of Lights'.

"Greenwood Lake Sunset" ~ 08/13/07 A Painting a Day by Connie Tom

"Greenwood Lake" This was a study done of one of the Hudson River School masters, Jasper Cropsey. I loved the detail, mood, atmosphere, lighting, and most of all the colors in this one. Enjoy!

"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." ~ Psalms 1: 1-3.
