"Buffalo Among the Geysers" ~ 24"h x 36"w Original Oil Painting by Connie Tom Hudson River School Wildlife Landscape Yellowstone Wyoming

"Buffalo Among the Geysers" 24"h x 36"w Original Oil Painting by Connie Tom

I paint a lot of nature scenes and scenes of the wilderness. This scene pictures the buffalo among the geysers at Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. I was reading an article in the Sunday paper about how fatigue can set in with too many decisions. It was suggested that we take a look at scenes of nature. it said that studies have shown that nature scenes can restore and regenerate attention. John Muir (b.21 April 1838) was a Scottish-born American naturalist and author and advocate of the preservation of wilderness in the United States. He petitioned the U.S. Congress for the National Park bill that was passed in 1890. Because of the spiritual quality and enthusiasm toward nature expressed in his writings, he was able to inspire readers, including presidents and congressmen, to take action to help preserve large nature areas. He is referred to as the "Father of the National Parks" today.

"I waited patiently for the Lord: and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies." ~ Psalm 40:1-4

"O Give Me a Home, Where the Buffalo Roam" ~ 36" x 48" Original Oil Painting by Connie Tom Western Wildlife Landscape

"Where the Buffalo Roam" 36"h x 48"w Original Oil Painting by Connie Tom Available for Purchase!

A storm had just ended and the sun came out. With so much moisture in the air, the colors in the sky and clouds were just beautiful. You could see miles and miles of land. These buffalo were meandering... grazing their way across the land.

This painting is available for purchase on my website at www.connietom.com.

"Blessed by the Lord, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him." ~ Psalm 28: 6-7.

"Sunset Over Jackson Lake and the Grand Tetons" ~ 24"x36" A Painting a Day Hudson River School Western Landscapes

This work pictures a beautiful sunset over Jackson Lake and the Grand Tetons located in Wyoming. As I have confessed before, an artist I am... a photographer I'm not. The easel light over the painting during the photographing has washed out the colors in the sky area and the photos just do not render justice to the actual painting. But I hope you enjoy anyway! ~ Connie

"Bless the LORD, O my soul, O LORD my God, Thou art very great; Thou art clothed with honour and majesty. Who coverest Thyself with light as with a garment: Who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: Who layeth the beams of His chambers in the waters: Who maketh the clouds His chariot: Who walketh upon the wings of the wind: Who maketh His angels spirits; His ministers a flaming fire." ~ Psalm 104:1-4

"Branson Hills Autumn" ~ 12"x9" A Painting a Day Hudson River School Mountain Landscapes by Connie Tom

This is an original oil painting by Missouri artist Connie Tom picturing the beginning of autumn in the hills of Branson. The sun is shining through the trees. It's after a shower and the colors seem to come alive. The road entering at the bottom of the picture seems to invite the viewer into the picture. It would be nice to take a walk through the Ozark Hills and enjoy the sun shining on you, listening to all the little woodland animals and birds in the trees and enjoy the brilliant colors of autumn. With all the detail and beautiful colors it has a very cheerful feel to it.
~ Enjoy!

"For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55:10-11.

"Study of a Rim Sitter" ~ 16"x12" A Painting a Day Hudson River School Mountain Landscapes by Connie Tom

Rim sitting has been popular throughout the ages for contemplative purposes. To have time to oneself to sit on the world's most elevated places helps to clear the mind and make problems seem to diminish in the view of such vast and timeless beauty. I hope you enjoy this painting as much as I enjoyed painting it. ~ Connie

"The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all. Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. Bless ye the LORD all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure. Bless the LORD all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul. ~ Psalm 103:19-22.

This work pictures an early evening sunset over the Grand Tetons Mountain Range, located in Wyoming. The highlights from the sun are glinting from the peaks of the mountains. The majestic mountains are doubly beautiful as they are reflecting in Jackson Lake. Enjoy!

"Who hath delivered us from the power of darkneww, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son; in Whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins: " ~ Colossians 1:13-14.
