"Creek Retreat XIV" 20"h x 24"w ~ Up for Bid! Hudson River School A Painting a Day Landscapes by Connie Tom

Autumn to me is one of the most special times of the year. A time full of activity and energy with all the brightly colored leaves floating through the air. Changes in the foliage and landscape are happening all around us.
High in the Rocky Mountains area, this little creek meanders it’s way quietly through the trees. The festive leaves seem to be setting the stage for the holidays seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas with such radiant colors of Harvest. As we view the flurry of leaves, they seem to be saying, Get ready... Winter is coming! The holidays are just around the corner. Better get done what you need to get done to be ready for joyous times of warm hospitality, family gatherings, love, laughter and lots of good food and fond remembrances of all we have to be thankful for. Truly a time of Harvesting all that “Good” is.
The tall stately tree trunks remind me that as they stand straight and tall and continue to grow through many seasons, they are a picture of faith that we human beings can be content and stand straight and tall with the same strength, stability and dignity through all the seasons of our own lives.

"Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD; and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. ~ Isaiah 55:6-7.
