One more commission done! I love scenes (and movies) of old times. Times of yesteryear... that depicts a joyful and romantic memory. Of course, I love light and like how it is reflected from all the city lights onto the wet pavement. I guess the customer must have liked it too. Thank you, LORD! ~ Enjoy!
Prints and Greeting Cards of this painting are now available in several sizes and options for ordering: Canvas or paper, Rolled in a tube or gallery wrapped, frames in several styles...All options are calculated for you. Click here!
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him, shall not be ashamed." ~ Romans 10:9-11.

"Lanterns of Gold V" ~ 24" x 20" A Painting a Day Hudson River School Autumn Tree Landscape Paintings by Connie Tom
It's exhilarating to me to walk through the woods after it rains or when the morning dew is still wet upon the leaves. As the sun begins to shine, the sunlight reflects from off the leaves and glistens like "Lanterns of Gold". This is the fifth painting I have done a series of autumn tree paintings called "Lanterns of Gold". ~ Enjoy!
"Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous: and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness." ~ Psalm 97:10-12.

"Autumn's Glories" ~ 24"h x 30"w A Painting a Day Hudson River School Luminous Autumn Tree Landscape Paintings by Connie Tom
"Autumn's Glories"
Autumn is such a beautiful, cheerful time of the year. People are settling in for the the winter and making preparations for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. As with the festive colors outside, we tend to want to bring some of that excitement and festive color inside our homes. ~ Enjoy!
"He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?" ~ Luke 16:10-11.

"Mountain Wildflowers" ~ 24"x20" A Painting a Day Hudson River School Landscapes by Connie Tom
There is something intriguing to me of painting mountains and wildflowers. I think it's the contrast of such strength and ruggedness of the huge mountains dwelling with such beauty and delicacy of the delicate wildflowers. I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed painting it. ~ Connie

"Grace" ~ 24"x30" A Painting a Day Hudson River School Autumn Tree Landscapes by Connie Tom
I love peaceful settings. It seems to bring peace to my soul and spirit... my inner most being. Grace is not something you earn. Wages we earn by our hard work and we are therefore justly rewarded. Grace is that "unmerited favor from God" many times coming in unexpected ways. Look for it today. It is a gift.... it is a blessing!
"Grace be to you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.." ~ Ephesians 1:2-3

"Creek Retreat VII" ~ 20" x 16" A Painting a Day Hudson River School Autumn Landscapes by Connie Tom
"Creek Retreat VII" is the seventh in a series of paintings I have done entitled the Creek Retreat series. Why... I don't know, but I love the country with it's sweet, fresh air, peace and solitude and such untapped beauty of nature in the wild. ~Enjoy!
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." ~ John 14:1-3
"Redhead" ~ 8"x 10" A Painting A Day Hudson River School Rooster landscapes by Connie Tom
NEW!!! Prints Available. See link below...
"Redhead" was very different for me to paint, but it was fun. This little hen has been scratching for food on straw strewn ground, when something has got her attention. The lively brushwork in the background is expressive of her highly excitable character after being disturbed. This would be perfect for someone who collects chickens. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed painting it! ~Connie

"Lanterns of Gold II" ~ 30" x 24" A Painting a Day Hudson River School Autumn Tree Landscapes by Connie Tom
This is the second in a series of oil paintings that I did entitled the "Lanterns of Gold Series". I love the colors of autumn and I love trees and being out in the woods. And I am especially fascinated with how light reflects off of water still on the many colored autumn leaves when the morning dew is still fresh on the leaves. They glisten like "Lanterns of Gold". I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed painting it. ~Connie
"The Lord hath prepared His throne in the heavens; and His kingdom ruleth over all. Bless the Lord, ye His angels, that excel in strength, that do His commandments, hearkening unto the voice of His word. Bless ye the Lord, all ye His hosts; ye ministers of His, that do His pleasure. Bless the Lord, all His works in all places of His dominion: bless the Lord, O my soul. ~ Psalm 103:19-22

"Shimmering Gold" ~ 30"h x 24"w A Painting A Day Hudson River School Colorado Landscapes by Connie Tom
The shimmering gold of the aspens is a beautiful contrast to the deep bluish purple of the mountains. According to Indian legend, the aspens quiver eternally because they once failed to do so before the Great Spirit. Enjoy!
"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." ~ John 15:4-5.

"Creek Retreat X" ~ 24" x 20" A Painting a Day Hudson River School Landscapes by Connie Tom
There's no doubt... I love autumn. And I love the country, trees, and bodies of water. Creeks seem to me to be a more intimate, less populated place to go and enjoy nature. Maybe because they are more convenient and plentiful here in the midwest. Enjoy!
"This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men." ~ Titus 3:8

"Home in Tuscany" ~ 16"x20" A Painting a Day Hudson River School Garden Flower Landscapes by Connie Tom
I can't imagine being surrounded with this much beauty, serenity, set on a hill so you can see miles of scenery and a view of the water from your house. The quietness, solitude, and peace.... now that's me! ~ Enjoy!
"One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple. For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion: in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in His tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD." ~ Psalm 27:4-6.

This painting is available for sale.
This is the season when many people love to take vacations. If you are like me, I love to get away to some place remote where I can find peace and solitude. This work pictures a sunrise through the mist and the fog of blue spruce trees and berry bushes in the rugged country of the Yukon Territory located in Alaska. The sun glints light off of the dew that is still upon the foliage and causes many beautiful prismatic color to be seen through the atmosphere. "Fishing Delight!" ~ 4/2/09 ~ A Painting A Day Hudson River School Landscapes Oil Paintings by Connie Tom
"Fishing Delight!" was definitely a delight to paint. This lucky angler has waded out in a shallow stream to enjoy the day and do what he loves to do best...fish! The sun is bright and reflecting off the water and the colorful rocks in the river bed. I hope you enjoy this painting as much as I enjoyed painting it. ~Connie

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. Depart from evil, and do good: and dwell for evermore." ~ Psalm 37:23-27.

"The Secret Garden" ~ 24" x 24" A Painting A Day Hudson River School Spring Landscapes by Connie Tom
It's an early Spring morning and a beautiful time for a stroll. I love the first of the day. The air seems much crisper and fresher. The dew is still on the flowers and it's a wonderful time to start your day. ~ Enjoy!
"That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect; yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory." ~ I Corinthians 2:5-8.

"Spring's Hidden Sanctuary" ~ A Painting A Day Hudson River School Spring Landscapes by Connie Tom
It's an early morning. The sun has just risen from over the hill glistening on the new growth of early spring. What a treat to get away from the business of life and reteat to the woods to meander through the trees. With no schedules to keep....it's time for you to have some fun and time for yourself, to relax and breathe some fresh clean country air into your lungs, clear the mind and take in all the breathtaking delights of nature. ~ Enjoy!
"Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass. "The Pounding Surf Against the Rocky Coast" ~ 2/16/09 A Painting A Day Hudson River School Landscapes by Connie Tom
"The Pounding Surf Against the Rocky Coast" is another intense study I have done of the revered Hudson River School master Frederic Edwin Church. There is something so fascinating to me about the ocean.... it's massiveness, I guess. Completely out of man's control. Always moving with a thousand little glints of reflected light. Intriguing to me just to sit and watch what it's going to do next with the changing of the tides, the lights, the weather, the time of day. Enjoy!
"Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever. Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous." ~ Psalms 112:1-4

"Golden Sunrise" ~ 20" x 16" A Painting a Day Hudson River School Luminous Landscapes by Connie Tom
There's nothing so mystical as the sunlight filtering through the atmosphere in an early morning sunrise on the lake. The fog is still hovering over the water and it's sooooo peaceful! Just the sounds of nature that you might hear...the rippling of water as a fish breaks the surface, a slight breeze in the air. ~ Enjoy!

"California Napa Valley Vineyard" ~ 1/03/09 Hudson River School A Painting a Day California Landscapes by Connie Tom

"...for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." ~ Matthew 12:34-37.
